Project Background
Managing personal and travel expenses often involves scattered transactions, spreadsheets, notes, and multiple payment methods. The existing Expense Manager app included features for daily expense tracking, travel planning, trip expenses, budgets, expense splitting, members, payment methods, and currency management, but these features needed a more structured and user-friendly experience.
The redesign focused on creating a clear information hierarchy and seamless navigation, making both everyday and travel-related expenses easy to access from the Home screen.
Empiric Infotech redesigned the app, and one dedicated developer built the new version in FlutterFlow.

Managing Two Different Expense Journeys The product needed to support both everyday expenses and travel-specific expenses. Treating them as one generic expense flow could create confusion, especially when travel expenses involve trips, members, and expense splitting.
Simplifying Complex Travel Expenses Travel expenses involve more than simply recording an amount. Users may need to select a trip, add members, choose who paid, select a payment method, and split an expense equally or unequally.
Making Financial Information Easy to Understand Balances, income, expenses, budgets, category spending, and trip costs can quickly become overwhelming. The challenge was to present meaningful financial information without making the interface feel data-heavy.
Maintaining a Consistent Experience With multiple modules and workflows, maintaining consistent navigation, cards, forms, actions, states, and visual hierarchy was essential for creating a cohesive product experience.
